Ant's Riding Safaris

About

Experience an incredible riding safari in the wonderful Waterberg of South Africa. Ride out in a private game reserve for an exclusive adventure. Spend your nights residing at Ant’s Hill or Ant’s Nest, two beautifully decorated and welcoming luxury ‘bush homes’ where your days are tailored around you. Spend them in the saddle gazing at the brilliant surrounding wildlife and birdlife and return to fabulous food and a relaxing atmosphere. The lodges are home to over 90 well-schooled horses, offering the chance for great riding experiences. The horses lead a fabulous life, roaming freely through the reserve. There is something wonderful about arriving at your sundowner spot, untacking your horse and then simply letting them go free to wander back to the stables. Riding on the reserve, you will enjoy close encounters with an incredible variety of game from rhino, buffalo, waterbuck, giraffe, eland, sable, oryx, wildebeest, red hartebeest, kudu, impala, zebra, blesbuck, warthog, bushpig and brown hyena as well as all the smaller animals such as African wild cat, mongoose and more than 250 species of birds. Winner of 'Best Riding Operator in Africa' 2011, The Ant Collection caters for all riding abilities with no more than 6 guests of similar ability in any group, and led by two highly-qualified guides. Guided mountain biking, game drives and walks to spot the 40 species of game are also a favourite. So even the less horse minded will have plenty to do. With magnificent views into the gorge, each secluded and spacious room is perfect for enjoying private meals and massages, and comes equipped with the little luxuries like tea and coffee making facilities and mini bar. Ant's Hill is seven bedrooms, Ant's Nest is six.
