Safari Itinerary

Zambia In Depth

As a guest of SITA, you will be treated to a visit to either Tribal Textiles or a visit to the local schools and conservation projects which Mfuwe Lodge has supported for over a decade.

Day 1 - Arrive Lusaka / Mfuwe / South Luangwa

Arrive to Lusaka, Zambia where you are met and assisted to connect with flight to Mfuwe. Transfer to your lodge nestled between two picturesque lagoons in the heart of South Luangwa National Park for a 2 night stay. Afternoon game drive. (D)

Mfuwe Lodge

Day 2 - South Luangwa National Park

In between game drives, walks and mouth watering meals, relax with a book on the library’s private deck, an ideal spot to take in the tranquility of Africa. The Luangwa river is the most intact major river system in Africa and is the life blood of the South Luangwa National Park. The now famous “walking safari” originated in this park and is still one of the finest ways to experience this pristine wilderness first hand. (BLD)

Mfuwe Lodge

Day 3-5 - South Luangwa – Bush Camp

Transfer by road to your bush camp situated in the heart of the South Luangwa National Park for a 3 night stay. Avid game viewers and birdwatchers can set out on superb walking safaris, game drives, night drives and scenic sundowner trips in the surrounding area. (BLD)

Bush Camp

Day 6 - South Luangwa / Lower Zambez

After the morning activity, transfer to Mfuwe Airport. Scheduled flight from Mfuwe to Royal Airstrip at the Lower Zambezi National Park traveling via Lusaka. Arrive and transfer to your tented camp for a 3 night stay. Our camp is nestled on the banks of the Zambezi River in the Chiawa Game Management area - this is the only stretch on the course of the Zambezi River where one finds National Parks on both banks of the river: the Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia and the famed Mana Pools World Heritage Site in Zimbabwe. (BLD)

Kasaka River Lodge

Day 7 & 8 - Lower Zambezi National Park

Enjoy two full days with morning and afternoon wildlife viewing on game drives and by boat safaris on magnificent Zambezi River. Fishing safari expeditions, walking safaris and canoeing trips are also available. The park is still relatively undeveloped, but its beauty lies in its absolute wilderness state. The diversity of animals is not as wide as the other big parks, but the opportunities to get close to game wandering in and out of the Zambezi channels are spectacular. (BLD)

Kasaka River Lodge
